Full payment must be made in cash or check at the beginning of the first class. No credit cards. Thank you!

Option 1: Have two hours of fun with friends and family learning how to make pottery on the potter's wheel with your group of 2-4 people (4 people max). $75 per person, aged 15 and up. We provide the clay, glazes and instruction. Each person will have 2 pots of their choice fired in our kiln. You can pick up your fired pots 3-4 weeks after the class. Email [email protected] to schedule.

Option 2:  A 4-week pottery class session. The cost is $175 per person for 4 classes, 2 hours each class. Cost includes clay, glazes, instruction and having 5 pots fired in the kiln. The small class size (4 people max) means that each student will receive individualized attention on the potter's wheel. The focus will be on making a mug as a vehicle to developing all the skills needed to make most other pots. We will demonstrate and teach you a broad range of pottery production techniques. Most of your time will be spent on the potter's wheel learning how to center and pull the clay. Classes are held at Unity Pond Pottery. Because it is a busy production studio, no extra studio time is available for students outside of class hours. Classes are ongoing. Please check this page for class dates and registration information. To register, email Elizabeth at [email protected].

Teachers

Robert (Espo) and Wendy Esposito have owned and operated Unity Pond Pottery since 1986. They are both self-taught potters with lots of experience. Before Espo met Wendy, he owned and operated pottery studios in New Jersey, the Virgin Islands and New Mexico starting in 1972. Espo is in his 52nd year as a professional potter.

Elizabeth Radliff helps to organize and teach the classes. She learned how to throw pots in high school and started working part-time at Unity Pond Pottery almost 25 years ago. About 15 years ago, Elizabeth started her own business, Oak Tree Pottery, and is best known for her Birch Stoneware line.

Thank you for your interest. We look forward to sharing the wonderful world of pottery with you!
